Highlights are embroidered with cream silk. It has appliqué borders and 'scrolls' of soft, cream coloured wool.\n\nIt has long, short and stem stitches with laid and couched work and is lined with linen.\n\nThe hanging is filled with the branches and foliage of an ancient apple tree. The central branch has been cut out and there are two symmetrical side branches. In the centre is perched a falcon and amongst the foliage is a squirrel and several birds.\n\nAlong the top of the hanging is an applied, inscribed scroll.
