The bag is rectangular but curves in towards the top where there are two rounded leather handles threaded through a leather flap on each of the sides. The pockets are faced with the leather of the bag and lined at the bottom with a soft, unpolished leather. The central portion has a slightly convex oval top covered with leather, with a central catch of twisted, incised, brassed metal. The inside of the bag is leather lined with two pockets on one side and on the other, a silk lined pocket with a brass zip. Below this is a fairly wide pocket, a lipstick pocket and another pocket.
