She manifests herself in many guises, one of which is known as the 'thousand arms Guanyin'. In reality it would have been impossible to make a wooden figure with a thousand arms, so this figure has only twenty-four. The arms symbolize her ability to help different people with different needs.","physicalDescription":"Figure of Guanyin, standing, with 24 arms spread in an arc, with two joined infront, some bearing Buddhist symbols - bell, lotus flower, conch, bow etc. Guanyin wears long flowing garments, and has hair looped ontop of head, with tails of hair falling over shoulders and in loops around ears.
