The shirt extends from shoulder to just below the bust where it is caught in narrow tucks onto a tape. With ends for tying at the sides. It is open at the sides and centre front where the only fastenings are the two wire ring embroidered buttons at the narrow band collar. The shirt is slightly gathered at the neck. There is a triangular gusset on the shoulder at the base of the collar, and a band is stitched along each shoulder to suggest the non-existent shoulder seam.
