Part of a Norwegian bridegroom's costume purchased by the donor in 1865 from the original owner. Tight-fitting at the waist, with adjustable ties to the reverse, the breeches are fuller through the leg. Buttons adorn the waistband and outer leg, including six British Admiralty buttons of gilt metal, two of bone, and the remainder of stamped silver or black metal.     \r\n\r\nLined in wool, and leather on the inner-leg. The inner waistband is of flannel with white cotton tying strings.
