The tie is made of black satin. It is already folded into a bow with one pointed and one square end. There are patent fastenings for fixing it about the collar. On the back strap of the bow are two upright black enamelled prongs with a lateral pin. The end of the tie is stiffened and is passed behind the central strap of the bow and then returned so that the pin holds the tie and the end is tucked behind the prongs.
