The designer, Maurice Louis Henri Meumont, was a painter, lithographer, poster designer and caricaturist. He was a pupil of the French academician Gérôme, and from 1902 exhibited at the Salon of the Société des Artistes Français. During the First World War he produced numerous propaganda posters, as well as working on camouflage projects.
