The top of a raised boss in the centre unscrews and shows a box containing two turned markers for keeping scores in the card game of cribbage.\nLittle is known about this artist, although he was apparently the son of George Engleheart the miniaturist (1750-1829), and the nephew of the sculptor and wax modeller Thomas Engleheart (1745-1809). The family originated in Germany.\n","physicalDescription":"Turned ivory. The oval board, which stands on six feet, is turned with elaborate designs of concentric circles and dots.
