The sitter was later in 1957 identified as Richard Brinsley Sheridan with the discovery of another version of the bust inscribed with the sitter's name.\r\nIt is made by the sculptor John Charles Lochée (1751-1791), who is best known for his small scale works in wax, and the execution of portrait medallions and engraved gems. From 1774 Lochée (also known as Johannes Carolus Lochees) was employed as a modeller for Josiah Wedgwood.","physicalDescription":"The man faces half-left, and wears a wig tied at the back of the neck; the hair curls back over his left shoulder.
