The printed design of the white Mexico dress evokes the scallop-edged lace of the <i>resplandor</i> headdress of Tehuana women. Latin America was an important market for Christian Dior. Licensing agreements with Mexican manufacturers and retailers made Dior fashions available in Mexico as early as 1950.
