Given by Mons. Richard'. This was the art dealer and private collector  Jules Florentin Richard (1816-1891), a French photographer, who arrived in Tehran in 1844.  While living there, he was employed at the court of Nasir al-Din Shah. Richard had been active as a collector for over 30 years and had displayed many of his acquisitions in his Tehran home.
