Müller, a chemist at the Danish Mint and J. G. von Langen, a mining engineer from Fürstenberg. In 1774 a factory was established with Queen Juliana Maria of Braunschwieg-Wolfenbüttel as chief shareholder, and in 1779 it was acquired by King Christian VII, when it became the Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Manufactory (<i>Den Kongelige Porcelainfabrik Copenhagen</i>). The mark adopted from 1775 was three wavy lines, symbolizing Denmark's main waterways to the Baltic.","physicalDescription":"Chocolate pot and cover of hard-paste porcelain painted with enamels and gilded.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Royal Copenhagen","id":"A3549"},"association":{"text":"manufacturer","id":"x33306"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"hard paste porcelain","id":"AAT10663"}],"techniques":[{"text":"painted","id":"AAT54216"},{"text":"gilded","id":"AAT53789"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Hard-paste porcelain painted with enamels and gilded","categories":[{"text":"Ceramics","id":"THES48982"},{"text":"Porcelain","id":"THES48907"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2009CT3725","2017JY7499"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"139 (VA)","id":"THES49874"},"free":"","case":"Z","shelf":"1","box":""},{"current":{"text":"139 (VA)","id":"THES49874"},"free":"","case":"Z","shelf":"1","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Chocolate pot","id":""}],[{"text":"Cover","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Copenhagen","id":"x32462"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1780-1785","earliest":"1780-01-01","latest":"1785-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"17.8","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"13.3","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"Three wavy lines","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"In blue"},{"content":"'1'","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"Impressed"},{"content":"'4'","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"Impressed"}],"objectHistory":"Painted in the Neoclassical taste.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Chocolate pot and cover of hard-paste porcelain painted with enamels and gilded, Royal Copenhagen, Copenhagen, 1780-1785.","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"wreath","id":"x43129"},{"text":"flowers","id":"x35571"},{"text":"medallion","id":"AAT77354"},{"text":"bust","id":"AAT47457"},{"text":"grisaille","id":"AAT53386"},{"text":"roses","id":"x31675"},{"text":"leaves","id":"x34654"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["527-1875","527A-1875"],"accessionNumberNum":"527","accessionNumberPrefix":"","accessionYear":1875,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE","Chocolate pot","Cover"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-22","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-24","availableToBook":false}}
