Jacques Dortu, a German-born porcelain painter trained at the Royal Porcelain Manufactory at Berlin , and Ferdinand Mueller, who had worked in St. Petersburg. All the raw materials were imported, the kaolin came from Saint-Yrieux, near Limoges, France, and the enamel colours imported from Germany.
