From 1920 he was Director of Camberwell Art School in LOndon.\r\n\r\nBorn in 1873, Stanley Thorogood trained at Brighton School of Art and won a Gold Medal Travelling Scholarship to Italy. Thorogood was particularly inspired by imagery, mostly 19th romantic depictions, of medieval knights.  Commonly known for his three dimensional sculptures, including a knight on horseback c1915 at Brighton Art Gallery, his pursued an interest in medieval equestrian subjects.","physicalDescription":"Figure of a knight on horseback.
