The frame is attached to two twist-turned uprights, allowing it to be tilted to adjust the viewing angle. Each upright is fitted with a dual-pivoting brass candle sconce. The mirror assembly sits on of a low rectangular base, decorated around its edges. Salvin was commissioned to produce designs in 1826 and building was completed in 1838.
