The borders are placed on either side, down the middle, and on the top. Each panel has a pattern of two broad bands, one containing four and the other three lozenge shaped compartments with leafy outlines; each compartment is filled with an artichoke and leaves, in the intermediate spaces are floral scrolls. At the top left a painted scene with a man and two women at the door of a chamber, in which is a man lying in bed. Along the top of the whole is a border composed of two depressed arches each enclosing two winged figures bearing a wreath; the spandrels also contain similar figures. Between and on either side of the two panels are vertical borders, each border composed of four groups of three enriched columns surmounted by a crown. The gilded pattern, which has painted outlines, has been punched with several different stamps. Both sides and the top of the hanging have fringing-edges.
