On the front is a sprig of red-current, on the sloping top is the word 'NEEDLES', and on the back is the inscription 'ROGERS & SONS. CUTLERS to their MAJESTIES'.\n\nThe top half of the case slides off to reveal six packets of needles. Four packets are labelled 'JOS ROGERS &amp; SONS. CUTLERS TO HER MAJESTY &amp; THE Royal Family. SHEFFIELD: SUPERIOR SHARPS.' The packets are graded in size and the needle numbers are written in red ink on the outside of each packet - Nos. 9, 10, 11, 12.\n\nAnother packet is labelled 'R COOK &amp; CO.  Hathersage, Nr SHEFFIELD. NEWLY INVENTED OVAL EYED BURNISHED SHARPES (9) MADE FROM THE BEST REFINED CAST STEEL.'\n\nAnother packet is labelled 'KIRBY'S LONDON NE PLUS ULTRA NEEDLES, No. 8 DIAMOND DRILL'D EYED.
