It is embroidered in satin stitch and French knots, with silk floss in shades of blue, pink, yellow and green, in a design of flowers and leaves. It includes a 2½-inch (6.4 cm) high collar, revers, shaped pockets and flaps and short skirts reaching to the top of the thigh. The right front is worked in 1 part; the left front is in 2 parts, separated above the pocket. The pocket flaps have been worked on a separate piece, cut out and stitched in place. There are 7 rectangles along the left front edge for buttonholes and 7 individual sprigs for covering the buttons.
