The present relief seems to have enjoyed greater popularity than any other of the carvings on the casket, and is reproduced on a crystal cup by Annibale Fontana in the Louvre, on the foot of a silver cross in the Duomo in Milan, and on a few plaquettes.\r\nAnnibal Fontana was born in Milan and was a sculptor, medallist and crystal-worker.","physicalDescription":"Abraham stands cross-legged on a rocky ledge framed on either side by trees. His left hand rests on the neck and shoulder of Isaac who is crouched on a pile of faggots piled on a stone mound; his hand is stayed by a naked angel flying in a trail of drapery. The ram is resting at the foot of the tree on the left side of the panel. Abraham, bearded and with wild locks of hair, is dressed in a loose tunic caught over one shoulder, hitched at the waist, and pinned up over his right thigh.
