The handbook of the exhibition (1904) explains, that \"the Exposition of 1904 is demonstrating that the instinctive impulse for artistic expression in the various forms of art work is a factor likely to have an important part in our national development'.","physicalDescription":"Obverse: Two female figures in drapery held within a circular cameo. The elder woman looking slightly to the right, her left arm outstretched, holds a flag which bellows behind both the figures. She also holds a corner of the flag in her right arm which is bent. The younger girl has plaits and looks left towards the older female figure. She holds her drapery in both hands. Legend.\r\nReverse: Centrally on the plaquette within a circular cameo, an eagle stands on a  rectangular base decorated with acorn leaves facing left; its wings are outstretched. On the base a legend. Beneath this inscription is a shell. To the left and right of the shell are two Renaissance style dolphins facing inwards to each other.
