The wreath does however appear coupled with the short hair, but slightly different drapery on the obverse of another portrait of Charles II by Roettier, commemorating the War with Holland and the Battle of Lowestoft in 1665.\n\nJan (John) Roettiers (1631-1703), who was the son of Philip Roettiers (1596-1669), a goldsmith and medallist in Antwerp. Charles II invited the Roettiers brothers John, Joseph and subsequently their third brother Philip to work for the British Royal Mint, where they produced many important medals.\r\n","physicalDescription":"Marble. The relief is represented bust length in profile to the right, wearing a drapery knotted on the left shoulder over a cuirass with embossed ornament.
