A young boy stands with crossed legs, his weight on the left foor and looking to his rught. In his right hand he holds the handle of a landing net, which rests among leaves on the ground. His right elbow is supported by a tree stump and his left arm is akimbo. He wears a short jacket and waistcoat, kilt, sporran and spats.
