Anstart and Albert Auguste Roze in France, 1918. This medal represents the devastation of the Somme by depicting Picardy farming family of father, mother and child survey the ruins of their home before starting out on their journey as refugees and the Prussian eagle. \r\n\r\nVery little is known of the designer or maker of this medal. Albert Roze was however a native of Amiens, and seems to have produced several medallions and plaquettes on the subject of the war in Picardy.","physicalDescription":"obv., Picardy farming family of father, mother and child survey the ruins of their home before starting out on their journey as refugees; he wears his hat and carries a staff, and the little girl carries a bundle.
