His head rests on his shoulder. One end of the loincloth hangs stiffly in the air to the right. The Virgin stands frontally, her hands held together in prayer. The ends of her voluminous mantle are caught up and pressed against her body by her arms. She wears a belted gown under her mantle and a veil covers her head. St John , his head slightly inclined to the right, holds his hands in prayer before his chest. He wears a tunic belted at the waist and buttoned at the neck under a mantle, one end of which is caught up in folds and pressed against his body by his right arm.
