Its flowing sinuous movement and sensual quality recall Baur's Orpheus and Eurydice (mus. no. A.49-1926).","physicalDescription":"Juno is represented as a chubby baby girl who stands seminude with her right foot advanced, and her left arm upraised. She holds a swathe of drapery aloft with her left hand and the hilt of a sceptreor mirror (partly missing), with her right. The pupils of her eyes are drilled. Her hair and left wrist are adorned with pearls and she wears a diadem. A peacock stands beside her on her right. Incised on the edge of the rockwork base: 'AMBROSIUS GALLE INVENIT FÉCIT'.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Gallé, Ambrosius","id":"A28245"},"association":{"text":"maker","id":"x40240"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"ivory","id":"AAT11857"}],"techniques":[{"text":"carving","id":"AAT53149"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Ivory","categories":[{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"},{"text":"Myths & Legends","id":"THES49005"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SCP","id":"THES48600"},"images":["2011FB4098","2011FB4101","2011FB4112","2011FB4114"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"014","id":"THES395617"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Statuette","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Netherlands","id":"x29020"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":"South, probably exectued in Munich"}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1730-1750","earliest":"1725-01-01","latest":"1750-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"20.48","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"'AMBROSIUS GALLE INVENIT FÉCIT'","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"On the integral base inscribed around the front."}],"objectHistory":"Bought for £500 from David Peel and Co.
