On this yellow ground is a design of square lattice in red and black bordered to the left by a broad strip of chinoiserie design. The scenes show a low table with tea vessels and a spray of flowers, a lady standing before another seated in a pavilion, a small pavilion beside a large spray of flowers, and an old man and a boy crossing a bridge towards another pavilion. The left hand decorative edging of this chinoiserie border formed the end of the design. The selvedge carries three blue threads. It is turned under and another piece of cotton with the lattice design added, turning the chinoiserie border into a central stripe. This has been done with both textiles.\r\n\r\nT.318-1966 is large enough to show a complete vertical repeat of the design, 18 inches high.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Bannister Hall","id":"A9038"},"association":{"text":"maker","id":"x40240"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Block-printed cotton","categories":[{"text":"Textiles","id":"THES48885"},{"text":"Interiors","id":"THES48933"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&F","id":"THES48601"},"images":["2018LF3539","2018LF3540"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES309036"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""},{"current":{"text":"001","id":"THES309036"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Printed cotton","id":""}],[{"text":"Printed cotton","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""},{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"England","id":"x28826"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1805","earliest":"1800-01-01","latest":"1809-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by J.
