The cabinet is in two stages. The lower is straight fronted, with serpentine ends and rests on a very deep plinth with multiple mouldings. There are five stiles which project from the front and side and the top juts out over these. They are based on 16th century pilasters with monsters heads, scrolls, drapes and acanthus and other carvings. There are four glass doors, two at the front with arched heads and one at either end, serpentine in plan and with a serpentine top. Each has a lock set in a carved escutcheon. Inside the doors there is a shelf of irregular serpentine shape resting on a support at each end, consisiting of a baluster with an elaborate scroll in front of it. There are two drawers in the front of the frieze, with  further applied carving. The upper stage is in the form of a triumphal arch, with a straight front and serpentine ends, with shelves and mirrors at the back. The wide lower mirror is flanked by carved panels with caryatid figures, above this are three smaller mirrors and at the top a central arched one. Balusters in the form of twisted columns, entwined with garlands, and with Corinthian capitals support the front of the shelves. The whole is surmounted by an elaborate pedimental structure embodying a winged female mask; elaborate pedimental forms also surmount the sides of the 'triumphal arch'.
