His glass sculptures recall human figures and African masks. The objects are cast in sand moulds in which pigments are sprinkled before the cast is made. These melt into the glass and lend the sculptures a ceramic appearance. This technique results in robust, mysterious sculptures that reveal, according to the angle of the light, the material they are made of. Its shape is based on his familiar 'masks', but the piece has a higher level of abstraction. Both shape and surface treatment - in black and white and various shades of grey - are particularly strong in this version of the 'Born Again' series.","physicalDescription":"Glass sculpture recalling an african mask or human figure, cast in a sand mould sprinkled with pigments which melt into the glass and lend the sculptures a ceramic quality.
