The case was made to fit around the inner case of a watch by Best (V&A museum number 253-1891), made in 1769-70.   The film can be seen on the V&A's website among the jewellery videos in the section on Fashion, Jewellery and Accessories.\r\n\r\nMartin Matthews is from a family of watchcase makers who made their first cases in the early 19th century.
