It depicts two peacocks perched on a rocky outcrop amid large peonies and other flowers in an 'Orientalist' style. The decoration is Chinoiserie-inspired, reflecting European interpretations of Chinese design. Made of bone china, the plate is hand-enameled over a black transfer print. Spode produced variations of this pattern on different ceramic bodies throughout the 19th and 20th centuries.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Spode","id":"A9226"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"Porcelain","id":"AAT10662"}],"techniques":[{"text":"Hand-painted","id":"x39976"},{"text":"Printed","id":"AAT53922"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Porcelain with transferprinted and enamel decoration","categories":[{"text":"Ceramics","id":"THES48982"},{"text":"Food vessels and tableware","id":"THES48952"},{"text":"Porcelain","id":"THES48907"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2019LX5207"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"003","id":"THES334294"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Plate","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Stoke-on-trent","id":"x29185"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1810","earliest":"1810-01-01","latest":"1810-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Miss H.M.
