Smirke R.A., published by William Miller, Old Bond Street, London, April 1802.\r\n\r\nJohn Duncombe Taylor may be that described on the database for the Legacies of British Slavery as a resident of Bristol and owner of Little Sion and Sion Hill estates in Antigua. He died in Antigua in 1835.\r\n\r\nThis plate was with D. M. & P. Manheim in 1966, along with three others showing the scenes: 'Zobeide after rescuing the Fairy', 'The Genius of the lamp appearing to Aladdin and his mother', and 'The Exposure of Prince Bahman.'\r\n\r\nThree more from the same set were offered by Woolley & Wallis on 2 September 2025, lot 238.
