The original panel of six scenes from The Hill is now at the William Morris Gallery, Walthamstow. Burne-Jones noted in his passbook, now in the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge, payment of £6 and £2 for 'sets of subjects for tiles \"Beauty & Beast\" in July, August, and November 1863. Orders were taken later for panels in which the scenes, borders and title differed from the original. It seems probable that J.R Holliday acquired this framed single scene (and associated tracings E.1293, 1297, 1298-1931) direct from Morris & Co.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Panel of two tiles, earthenware, painted with a scene from Beauty and the Beast, designed by Edward Burne-Jones, 1863, made by Morris, Marshall, Faulkner and Co., 1863 to early1870s, England","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"William Morris Exhibition Catalogue, ed.
