The motif was already in use at Doccia in the First Period and probably corresponds to the description given in documents as “red or purple flowers in the middle with little flowers all around and some gilding” (BIANCALANA 2009, p. 162). In this case the range of colours used, like the duller shade of red and the stiff shape of the peony, suggest a later date, around 1765- 1770. The handle of the cup is also typical of the Second Period and is generally found on cups that can be dated from1765 to 1780\r\n(A. d’Agliano, in LE PORCELLANE ITALIANE 1986, p. 54, cat. 37).\r\nA. d’A.\r\n"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"flowers","id":"x35571"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[{"text":"TEA BOWL\r\nPorcelain\r\nITALY (DOCCIA); middle of 18th century\r\nGift of Lt.-Col.
