It is adapted from \"Fetes Venitiennes\" by Antoine Watteau. In the middle of the composition a gentleman in a long robe and a lady are dancing a minuet, to the tune of a flute and violin played by two men to the left. A lady and gentleman are seated on the ground in front of the alter, at the foot of a tree. A man half kneeling beside two seated ladies is seen behind the dancers. The plaque is filled in, beyond the limits of the print, with a circular temple to the right, trees to the left and water with two swans in the foreground, painted in colours. Mounted in an ornamental gilt metal frame.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"copper","id":"AAT11020"},{"text":"enamel","id":"AAT14910"},{"text":"gilt metal","id":"x35080"}],"techniques":[{"text":"enamelling","id":"AAT53773"},{"text":"gilding","id":"AAT53789"},{"text":"transfer printing","id":"AAT53922"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Enamel on copper, transfer-printed and tinted, mounted in a gilt metal frame","categories":[{"text":"Enamels","id":"THES48876"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"CER","id":"THES48594"},"images":["2016JE8473","2017KB3854"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"019","id":"THES338143"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Plaque","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"England","id":"x28826"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"18th century","earliest":"1700-01-01","latest":"1799-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Lady Charlotte Schreiber","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"9.68","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"10.64","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"converted from register","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Rectangular plaque, enamel on copper, transfer-printed and tinted in polychrome enamels, and gilded, mounted in a gilt metal frame, England, 18th century","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["414:1444-1885"],"accessionNumberNum":"414","accessionNumberPrefix":"","accessionYear":1885,"otherNumbers":[{"type":{"text":"Schreiber number","id":"THES50279"},"number":"Sch.III 24"}],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-11","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-24","availableToBook":true}}
