His experiments to improve the efficiency of the firm's manufacturing processes and use of timber resulted in good designs which were affordable by most people. Some of his classic designs are still in use.","physicalDescription":"Child's side chair of stained and varnished bentwood.  The chair has a curved cresting rail, an inverted u-shaped splat, circular seat and splayed legs.
