This robust figure carries a large club in the crook of his right arm, possibly as a gesture of protection to his devotees. This  may identify him as Vasudeva, from whom the Vishnu cult figure evolved.\n\nThe figure wears a turban with a top knot and rosette in the front, heavy earrings and a torque round his neck.
