The basic design of the dress was a Laura Ashley staple for a number of years, first made in around 1969, and manufactured throughout the 1970s. The deliberately classic, anti-fashionable qualities of Laura Ashley designs meant that, unlike more modish designs, they tended not to quickly go out of fashion. This dress could well have been in stock for a number of years before being purchased for the wedding.\r\n\r\n- Daniel Milford-Cottam, 2011","briefDescription":"Full length cotton wedding dress with lace, designed by Laura Ashley Ltd., Wales, 1970-1975","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"Ready to wear","id":"THES48866"},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["T.287-1982"],"accessionNumberNum":"287","accessionNumberPrefix":"T","accessionYear":1982,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-11","recordCreationDate":"2009-06-22","availableToBook":true}}
