He excelled at ornamental writing on paper, which was a popular recreation at the time. Inspired by the famous amateur Leiden glass-engraver Willem van Heemskerk, Boers adapted this skill to decorate fine glassware.  \r\nHe signed and dated this bottle ‘B.
