Over the course of seven years, Jeremy Deller and Alan Kane collected objects and photographs of places, customs, and things that they propose 'might constitute modern day folk art.' Deller has stated: 'Warhol said that pop art was about liking things, whereas for me folk art is about loving things.' The archive was exhibited at the Barbican Art Gallery in 2005, and has since toured to other venues in the UK, Switzerland and Japan.","physicalDescription":"Colour photograph of a crop circle in Wiltshire.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Deller, Jeremy","id":"A14195"},"association":{"text":"photographer","id":"x43821"},"note":""},{"name":{"text":"kane, alan","id":"A27142"},"association":{"text":"photographer","id":"x43821"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[{"text":"c-type colour photography","id":"x35645"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"C-type print","categories":[{"text":"Photographs","id":"THES48910"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":[],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"315","id":"THES49535"},"free":"","case":"10","shelf":"L","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"photograph","id":"AAT46300"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Wiltshire","id":"x29260"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"2000","earliest":"2000-01-01","latest":"2000-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Purchased with the generous assistance of Paul Myners and Outset Contemporary Art Fund","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"90","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Length","value":"120","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Photograph by Jeremy Deller and Alan Kane, from the 'Folk Archive', 'Crop circle, Avebury, Wiltshire, 2000', C-type print, 120 x 90 cm.","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"crop marks","id":"AAT248611"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[{"text":"Deller and Kane both use collaboration in their practices and work in a variety of media.
