He was also interested in individual art works as in this sculpture. 'Cullet' is the waste from the molten glass process.  Pollitzer selected this massive chunk of cullet and, treating it as a 'ready-made' sculptural form reminiscent of watery depths , he has sand-blasted decoration in the form of fish.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Sculpture, glass, in the form of a fish, selected and decoration designed by Sigmund Pollitzer, at Pilkingtons Ltd, Britain (St Helens), 1936","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Pinkham, Roger,  <font -u>Thirties cat.</font -u>, V&A/Arts Council"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"fish","id":"x30068"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["C.126-1978"],"accessionNumberNum":"126","accessionNumberPrefix":"C","accessionYear":1978,"otherNumbers":[{"type":{"text":"Glass gallery number","id":"THES50491"},"number":"7594"}],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-12-03","recordCreationDate":"1997-12-13","availableToBook":true}}
