This image was taken at a particularly high tide, emphasising a small cluster of fragile shacks on a tiny island. The industrial landscape of Teesside can be seen on the horizon, with Middlesbrough's Transporter Bridge on the left and ICI Billingham on the right. The dark clouds gathering above provide a sense of foreboding, and hint at what was coming soon. The shacks and boathouses fell into disrepair and the fishing community had gone by the mid 1980s.","physicalDescription":"","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Macdonald, Ian","id":"A26122"},"association":{"text":"photographer","id":"x43821"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Gelatin-silver print","categories":[],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2007BP5595"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLF","id":"THES49656"},"free":"","case":"X","shelf":"971","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"photograph","id":"AAT46300"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Cleveland (England)","id":"x29461"},"association":{"text":"photographed","id":"x30151"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1974","earliest":"1974-01-01","latest":"1974-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Black and white photograph by Ian Macdonald, Autumn Equinox Floodtide, Greatham Creek, Teesmouth, 1974","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Ian Macdonald's photographs feature in a documentary film, The Creek, by Warren Harrison, 2018.
