The arrest of various heroes of the underground subculture, including pop stars, and general harassment of all hippies led to a number of 'legalise pot rallies', to  protest against infringement of individual liberty and the 'war' between generations.\r\n\r\nMike McInnerney did a number of posters for the underground. His style is particularly evocative of the hallucinatory effect of drugs with amorphous forms growing out of a swirk of smoke and rainbow colours.\r\n\r\n[Julia Bigham, 'British Design at Home', p.148]","briefDescription":"Poster, 'Legalise Pot Rally', designed Michael McInnerney, printed TSR, 1967","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"<u>Victoria and Albert Museum Department of Prints and Drawings and Department of  Paintings,  Accessions 1968</u> London: HMSO,  1969."}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["E.33-1968"],"accessionNumberNum":"33","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":1968,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-11","recordCreationDate":"2000-02-10","availableToBook":false}}
