It was designed by J. Peyre (active 1845-1848,1856-1871) and named after the missionary, R.P. Ly, who published influential studies on Chinese porcelain. Peyre was \"dessinateur en chef\" at Sevres and responsible for a range of classic forms which lent themselves particularly well to rich decorations needing a simple background shape. Goddé (active 1856-1883) was a gilder and decorator and this vase demonstrates his skills in a particularly rich manner. \r\n\r\nGiven by Mons.
