Its publications, \r\naccessible by subscription, made use of the new \r\nmedium of chromolithography to produce lavish colour \r\nprints. These initials and border ornament samples were \r\ncopied from choirbooks in Siena for an alphabet book \r\npublished by the Society in 1862.
