Until recently, women wore different colour combinations of jeogori and chima (skirt) for specific occasions or to indicate the wearer’s social or marital status. Women would often wear pink jeogori as part of their engagement celebrations, while married women generally wore indigo chima. To prevent creasing, hanbok is stored folded in a clothing chest or hung on the wall over a horizontal wooden pole called hwaetdae.","physicalDescription":"The skirt (<i>ch'ima</i>) is of navy blue figured silk lined with turquoise gauze and has a white cotton bodice.
