The handles on early Koryo spoons are shorter and have a gentler curve than their mid-Koryo counterparts. With the exaggerated curvature of its handle and the swallow-tail form of the handle-end, this spoon likely dates to the mid-Koryo period.","physicalDescription":"The spoon has a long, shallow , pointed bowl and a curved handle with swallow-tail end decorated at both ends with a pricked design of wavy lines and scrolls.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"bronze","id":"AAT10957"}],"techniques":[{"text":"casting","id":"AAT53104"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Bronze","categories":[{"text":"Images Online","id":"THES48937"},{"text":"Metalwork","id":"THES48920"},{"text":"Tableware & cutlery","id":"THES48888"}],"styles":[{"text":"Koryô","id":"AAT134127"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"EAS","id":"THES48596"},"images":["2011ET6734","2006AU3824"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"019","id":"THES361770"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Spoon","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Korea","id":"x30965"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"918-1392","earliest":"0918-01-01","latest":"1392-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Length","value":"10.4","unit":"in","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"1.37","unit":"in","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"Notes: Width of bowl","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Purchased from Messrs.
