The 'Sacrifice of Isaac', inscribed T/R M/ 1665.  The last two figures are doubtful because of running pigment.  Painted in blue, turquoise green, ochre, yellow and manganese-purple.  The border in blue between yellow and blue rings. Body colour: Dark buff. Condition: Part of rim at upper right (about 4 ins by 1 in) restored. Glaze: Dull white.  A lead-glaze with grey streaks of tin-glaze over a pale slip covers the entire back.  Four marked potting grooves on the back of the flange.  The foot-rim has been wiped almost entirely clean of glaze.\nShape: Shape A with straight rim.  Foot pierced with two holes before firing.
