The body is inscribed 'Here Gentleman come try your skill/ I'll hold a wager if you will/ That you dont drink this Liquor all/ Without you/ spill or let some fall'.  The outer side of the handle and the mouth has alternating stripes and ovals.  The lower part of the handle is flanked by flower sprays in yellow, green and manganese-purple.  All the rest of the decoration is in blue.  A round hollow handle with hole in underside near the top connects with the interior of the jug.  Three nozzles project from a hollow tube around the mouth.
