The three cockle-shells and the upper bowl have sprigs of flowers and the birds and shells are dabbed with pigment in yellow, green, blue and manganese-purple.\nBody colour: Buff.\nGlaze: White and pooling, partially on the underside.  Some of the painting has run in the firing and the glaze is very pink where it is thin.  Foot-rim wiped partially clean of glaze.\nShape: The shells supporting the birds are hollow as is the central column which has a hole opening into the base.  The moulding around the base has numerous stab-holes.
