After\r\npractice in his native Germany in a very\r\nadvanced modernist style he came to\r\nBritain in 1933 to a partnership with Serge\r\nChermayeff. In 1939 he moved to Palestine\r\nand in 1941 to America. This drawing \r\nshows a veiw across the 80-acre site past\r\nthe exhibition halls to a row of tower\r\nblocks and is drawn in very soft pencil,\r\nMendelsohn's favourite drawing medium.\r\nDesigned to be built from standardised\r\nindustrially produced components the\r\nscheme was never built.
